Heritage New Zealand (formerly the Historic Places Trust) are having an open day at their national office, Antrim House, 63 Boulcott Street, on Sunday 28 September. The house, originally built for Robert Hannah (the shoe chap), is a grand Edwardian mansion. There are guided tours every hour (last one at 2pm) to explain the history, preservation and conservation of this lovely building.
We propose the midday tour. Bookings are essential but are only $10 from Eventfinder ($7 if you’re a student or Heritage NZ member; free for young persons aged between five and 12 years). Get in quickly; a couple of the tours are already sold out.
